Everytime he Adresses The Problem He became The Problem
If he doesn’t open up to you, it’s because you’ve taught him it’s not safe to.
Men don’t just shut down for no reason. At some point, he tried to express his thoughts, his emotions, his struggles—and he was met with criticism, dismissal, or made to feel weak for being vulnerable. Maybe it was subtle eye rolls, getting frustrated when he didn’t express things your way, or using his words against him later. Over time, he learned that silence is safer.
If you want him to open up, don’t demand it. Create the space where he wants to. Listen without judgment. Don’t try to fix him. Don’t weaponize his feelings later. Make it clear—through your actions, not just words—that his emotions are safe with you.
